Who We Are
Agua Viva is our missions project located at 16 Mountain Avenue in Bound Brook, NJ. It was founded by volunteers who are passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and who love to serve people. Through Agua Viva ministries, volunteers have the opportunity to serve the Hispanic population of Bound Brook and the surrounding communities.

Our Mission
The Hispanic population of Bound Brook has various linguistic, spiritual and material needs. In April 2007, these needs intensified as the result of many families being driven from their homes by the Nor'Easter Flood.
At Agua Viva, we attempt to meet these needs in an ongoing way by showing love and compassion as we serve in numerous ways. It is our goal that as we serve, people come to know Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him.
We Offer
-
After School Helpers
Many families in Bound Brook struggle with English as their second language. As a result, parents cannot help their children with their homework. Volunteers at Agua Viva currently offer homework help to over 30 school children. Many more children could be helped by volunteers who commit to meet with their student once a week to go over homework and their basic language needs.

Volunteers at Agua Viva also offer English classes to mainly Spanish-speaking adults. In these classes, non-native speakers of English participate in conversations about common topics, such as family, health, work, and community. They are given a chance to practice and improve their English in an atmosphere of encouragement, respect, and trust.

After the flood hit Bound Brook in April, Agua Viva has become known as a center of hope by the population of the town and surrounding communities. So much has already been done because of the generosity of people who have donated goods and money when needed.
We are limited in storage space so we can only accept items for which there is an immediate need and we often try to connect the donor directly to the recipient so that larger items can be delivered directly to where it is needed. If you have items to donate in like-new or excellent condition that you think may be useful, please click the link below and describe what it is and we will let you know if there is a family or individual that would be blessed by your generosity. Thank you so much!

Alpha is a wonderful way to introduce people to Jesus Christ in a non-threatening way. Alpha is a twelve-week video course that introduces people to the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Each week’s video presents a different question that many people have about Christianity, such as “Who Is Jesus?” and “Why and How Should I Read the Bible?” People meet for Alpha once a week at the Agua Viva Center. They share dinner together, watch a video, and discuss that week’s topic.
