I want to thank you all on behalf of the Summer Spectacular 2010 team for your support this past week, and in the weeks leading up to HIGH SEAS EXPEDITION!! So many of you left your fingerprints all over this event, from the set design, painting and construction, to assembling props and decorations, to donating food for our volunteers and snacks, to creating and setting up for Summer Spectacular this past Sunday, to those of you who generously offered your time to hang out with 130+ kids all week. WE made a difference in the lives of children and their families this week. We are apart of an amazing Body - that knows how to serve! We represented Jesus well - and for that I am SO proud!

For those of you who could not make it this week, 37 children prayed and asked Jesus to be their "Forever Friend", along with a teen volunteer. But it didn't end there. One of our sweet volunteer care "Lunch Ladies" became a follower of Jesus too. . . at 84 years old!! God was at work - He was graciously answering our prayers!

Our Missions Project this year was Laptops / Desktops for Agua Viva. Our goal was to collect enough money to purchase at least three (3) computers to be used at Agua Viva in Bound Brook. As of the last night, we had collected over $1650!! We are well on our way. Special thanks to EMILLY SOLOMINE, BRENDA DOHERTY and SHARON HEINAMAN for their leadership and steadfastness in coordinating all the pieces of Summer Spectacular. They worked tirelessly for weeks, to make this a Class A event. Their attention to every detail, and most importantly their investment in the preparation - made Summer Spectacular a "well oiled machine". When you see them - be sure to give them a "high five"!

In Ephesians 5:1-2, we are told to "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God." You know what. . . I think we smelled pretty darn good this week!!
