The Mercy League began in 2006 to enable people in the church with like skills

(i.e. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, organizational, etc.) to serve those in our congregation and community who have like felt needs which they cannot meet on their own, such as single mom’s, widows, senior citizens. 

Like a baseball league, our goal is to create a league of individual teams whose purpose is to serve others both in our church and out, by utilizing their SHAPE (Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experience) – all in Jesus' name.  If you have a skill that you would like to use for God, please contact either Brenda Alfieri (908-369-8216), Chris Holmes (908-612-0326) or Pastor Tom (908- 403-8646).  We want to help you LOVE and SERVE others like Jesus did – as a way of life. 

Compassionate Serving Opportunities

Senior Care: Provide ongoing care for senior citizens, by providing transportation to and from doctors appointments; shopping for groceries; visiting those who are housebound or in nursing homes.

Agua Viva Clothing Closet:  NEW for 2007.  Sorting through clothing donations; cleaning dirty clothes; stocking shelves.  Volunteers are also needed to man the Clothing Closet on specified days to be determined by the Agua Viva director.  For more information or to get involved, please contact Angela Ortiz at (908) 917-7311.

Agua Viva Food Pantry:  NEW for 2007.  Receiving food donations at ABC on 2nd and 4th Sundays; transporting food to Agua Viva; stocking and maintaining food shelves at Agua Viva.  Volunteers are also needed to man the Food Pantry on specified days to be determined by the Agua Viva director.  For more information or to get involved, please contact Angela Ortiz at (908) 917-7311.
