Day 5 God is Omnipotent
Day 5: God is Omnipotent
And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! - Revelation 19:6 (NKJV)
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. - Colossians 1:16-17
Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! The word omnipotent comes from omni - meaning “all” and potent meaning “power.” From the beginning of Scripture, we read – In the beginning GOD. God, the Creator, spoke things into existence. He has all power over all things at all times and in all ways. We must constantly remember that God is the sole Creator of all things. He was the very first, and everything else emanated from Him. It is therefore obvious that God has power over all things. Everything came from Him; therefore, nothing can stop Him or prevent Him from doing as He wishes. His power is unlimited, nothing can hold Him back. He is El Shaddai (God Almighty)! The beauty of our Omnipotent God, is that we too were created by Him and for Him (Col. 1:16-17). With all power, He has loved us... Before the creation of the world He decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

Suggested Guided Prayer Focuses:
- God, I acknowledge that You are all powerful (pause). Your power is consistent with the rest of Your nature. I worship You today because You are God Almighty!
- Father, You spoke the world into existence. Help me to understand that unlike me, Your power is unlimited...there is nothing You can’t do and there is nothing too hard for You. Omnipotent God, You are the source for my confidence, You can handle any problem I have! Help me to trust You and Your plans for my life. Please help me to see that YOU took great pleasure in creating ME. (Pause, listen and reflect on the fact that the God who created the heavens and the earth is the same God who took great delight in creating you).
- Look for references throughout the Bible where you see God’s almighty hand at work. In response to what He's shown you, take these answers and praise and thank Him in prayer.
Action Steps:
- Fact: You were created for Him. Ask yourself if you are living your life like you were created by Him and for Him... or He for you and your purposes. Are you living your life with the Omnipotent God being your source of strength?
- How do you respond to our Omnipotent God? 1 Peter 5:6 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” We realize that without His almighty power, we can do nothing.
