Day 4: He knows
The Presence of God Prayer Series: He knows
"Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing."
Isaiah 40:26 NIV
Isaiah was no doubt impressed, and comforted, thinking that the God who knows all of the stars in the sky... knew him! Isaiah could look up and see about 6,000 stars visible to the human eye... and God knew every one of them by name! Seeing that, Isaiah's trials and concerns on earth seemed more within the capability of God to know, and understand, and handle.
But, God knew what Isaiah could not even imagine! That for EVERY star Isaiah could see, there were over 16 MILLION stars just in our Milky Way Galaxy that Isaiah couldn't even see!
And, "because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing!"
God knows you, even every hair on your body is important enough to be numbered and known by Him. He knows your trials and situation better than you do. He knows the last penny you earned or lost, and every cell and virus that is in or around your body is known. Every minor detail and massive impact is important to Him.
But, more important to Him is knowing you. And He is ready and able to remain with you in the midst of your situation for as long as your trial lasts, calling to you by name every morning.
So breathe deep of the awesome power, and majesty, and knowledge of the God who knows the universe and who knows and loves you!
Prayer and or Action Steps:
As you pray, consider these verses and cast your cares on him. Then spend a minute or two looking at all the stars in the photo of God's awesome creation.

- 'Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?†“Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?†For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.'
Romans 11:33-36 NIV - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6â€-‬7 NIV - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 NIV - Click here and contemplate a photo of M13 The Great Globular Cluster of stars that will be high in the sky over New Jersey every night this summer. This cluster is made up of 300,000 stars, but God knows each star by name ... and He knows you too! So, take time tonight, or soon, and go outside and look up, and for EVERY star you see, say: "There are 16 million more for that one!"
